Dr. (Prof.) Jyoti Bajpai is a distinguished Medical Oncologist with globally acclaimed training and leadership in precision oncology, immunotherapy for all common, rare and complex cancers. Her academic and clinical journey spans some of the world’s most prestigious institutions in India and abroad, including All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi; Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC), New York; and Johns Hopkins University, USA. She is also a proud ESMO Leaders Generation Programme Graduate, reflecting her role as a global thought leader in oncology.
With decades of experience in academic medicine, clinical oncology and research, Dr. Bajpai has played a pivotal role in shaping modern cancer care across India and the SAARC region.
She has been instrumental in establishing landmark national initiatives, including serving as the Founder General Secretary of the Immuno-Oncology Society of India and Founder Chair of Women in Oncology (W4O) – India and SAARC Nations. Through these platforms, she actively champions professional equity, mentorship, and the advancement of women in oncology, working toward a truly gender-neutral oncology workforce.
Dr. Bajpai represents India on the global stage as a core member of the Society for Immunotherapy of Cancer (SITC) – Global Access & Impact Committee, and as faculty for ESMO Women for Oncology (ESMO-W4O) and the ESMO Immunotherapy Track. Her contributions reflect a strong commitment to expanding access to cutting-edge cancer therapies while aligning global advances with regional healthcare realities.
She is a key contributor to the development of international oncology guidelines, including those by ESMO, SITC, Advanced Breast Cancer (ABC), BCY-7, and ESMO-PAGA, with focused expertise in breast cancer, sarcomas, and immunotherapy. Her research portfolio includes approximately 200 national and international publications, addressing critical areas such as rare and challenging cancers (including sarcomas and pregnancy-associated cancers), breast and gynecological cancers, immuno-oncology, gender equity, and the development of cost-effective, high-impact treatment protocols for low- and middle-income countries.
In addition to her academic achievements, Dr. Bajpai has extensive experience as a journal editor and peer reviewer for reputed national and international medical journals. She has served as Principal Investigator for multiple randomized clinical trials and continues to mentor students and clinicians across institutional, national, and international platforms, shaping the next generation of oncology leaders.
